Stepping-up professional care within the practice has never been more critical believe OSA member companies and they will be providing the means to achieve this at 100% Optical.
Free to attend education on the OSA stand T6 – some with CPD points – brings guidance on encouraging personalised dry eye care and tailoring the management of this by identifying tear film biomarkers. OSA-stand lectures will bring together the guidance of ophthalmologist Priya Udani, optometrist Mandy Davidson and Keeler’s Head of Education Nicola Bennett, on 28 February.
“Hanson, Keeler and Scope will be on hand to guide you through the running of successful dry eye clinics. OSA financial advice can also make the thought of a regular dry eye clinic become a reality, with insights from other practices which have successfully expanded their clinical offering,” said James Conway, OSA Chairman.
“From a growing cohort of thirty-somethings who are heavy users of phones and tablets, to the more expected middle-aged and older patient profile, we have the answers. There is also advice available for the post-surgery patients who may discover the symptoms of DED for the first time,” he added.
Making AI meaningful within the practice, and using this to shape clinical, diagnostic and dispensing decisions will also be discussed on the OSA stand – thanks to Rodenstock’s Product and Training Manager, Jason Halsey, on 28 February.
Home monitoring technology, which is portable and flexible, can make domiciliary care decision making more robust and this will be discussed by Professor Jasleen Jolly, Professor in Vision Science, on 28 February.

‘Dinner Party Dispensing’ Peer Review, Dispensing Workshop on 1 March, presented by Charlotte Timbury, will centre on making the best dispensing recommendations through engaging, scenario-based discussions. Featuring recognisable characters likely to be encountered in any practice, attendees will assess each character’s needs and propose suitable products or treatments, sharpening the clinical reasoning and communication skills. In each case, the facilitator will introduce a “dispensing curveball” – a twist that alters the patient’s context – challenging learners to rethink and adapt their recommendations in real time.
Many OSA member companies will also be providing education on their individual stands – at BIB MichelleBeach from Park Vision Optometrists will share her expertise in running successful dry eye clinics. The stand’s dry eye area will feature Thermaeye Plus IPL for treatment, and products that complement pre and post treatment.
