Providing an inspired offering for every price point of the retail frame market has brought awards and accolades for Continental Eyewear – beloved by generations of practices.

Supporting businesses and working closely with dispensing teams throughout the country brings recognition, the team found last year when they were awarded the coveted accolade of OPTICIAN Frame Supplier of the Year.

“Our broad appeal has ensured that Continental has been meeting the needs of practices for nearly 40 years, and we continue to inspire each year with excellent frame design created under the guidance of our in-house design,” said Peter Cronin, Head of Marketing at Continental Eyewear.

Children’s collections, through teens and unisex models in acetates, metals and surpass ensure a full representation for every practice opportunity.

“Our Reykjavik Eyes collection – which includes 18ct gold models – and others made from Japanese titanium, is highly regarded as our premium offering. Alongside this we have a host of styles under the Matrix, Penguin, Walter & Herbert and L.K. Bennett collections. Walter & Herbert, our quintessentially British brand, is manufactured here in our Liverpool factory.

“We are acutely aware that many businesses are looking very closely at costs and profit margins in these tough economic times and we are very focused on providing a quality product for this sector of the market. Our Lazer collection provides one of the most comprehensive, value for money eyewear label available. The extensive collection of colours and contemporary styling is complemented with some attractive prescription sunglass models,” added Peter.

Sustainability is uppermost in the minds of many OSA members and Continental is no exception. The recent launch of the Cameo Sustain collection is a strong statement about the company’s committed environmental ambitions. Made from recycled bottles and other plastics, the Cameo Sustain shows that a fine product can be produced by recycling what had previously been sent to landfill –

“A terrific talking point with patients and those who are striving to be more ecologically aware, the Cameo Sustain collection includes male, female and unisex models with a children’s collection currently in design stages.”

Liverpool’s large frame facility in which Continental is housed, alongside the Optoplast cases and accessories business, includes a case making facility producing rPET cases, plus practice branded cases and cloths. A full glazing service and remote edging is provided by sister company Jai Kudo.
